COMFORT TRAVELLING
DEAR FRIENDS, admit, that for most of us the screenplay of our day schedule is
pretty the same: home-office-home. And sometimes we really feel the lack of fresh
air and excess of the city vanity. Catching up with friends at some local bar on
Friday night from time to time doesn’t bring that pleasure and we understand that
the pure relax we are eager to receive can be found somewhere on the lake shore
accompanied by the family and close friends. And the main point is the absence of
problems and stress.
For this reason we did our best to provide you with the equipment that makes
your travelling as comfortable as being at home, implementing our motto in our
products: ALEXIKA – COMFORT IN DETAILS.
We’d like to offer you appropriate products for all kinds of active vacations: from
camping to extreme. Being out-of-doors with your family will be easier and more
convenient with spacious reliable camping tents and wide cozy blanket-type
sleeping bags (see p.42). Whether you are going hiking or trekking in the mountains,
alone or with friends, light and concise equipment of trekking series (see
p. 15) will make your experience truly amazing. Extreme sleeping bags and tents
(see p. 13) will provide you with reliable shelter and good insulation during mountain
climbs in the Alps or the Himalayas.
The whole range of Alexika equipment is produced according to the European
quality standards. Moreover, equipment of extreme series has been tested in severe
winter conditions in Elbrus Mountains (see p. 12). Durability and high quality
of Alexika equipment serves as a warranty for your safety while travelling. The
essence of our concern is to provide our clients with reliable equipment that will
make any vacation a pleasure.
Make a step towards the perfect trip — find your equipment here: www.alexika.eu.
Best regards, Christian Kaiser,
ALEXIKA > TENTS > COMFORT IN DETAILS
ALEXIKA TENTS — COMFORT IN DETAILS
Ventilation window is in the upper part of the
outer tent and is equipped with mosquito mesh.
Convenient shelf for storage of small items is built
in under the window.
Lock consists of metal hook and loop and protects
zipper if tent is highly strained or if you
accidentally step on zipper.
Effective and simple ventilation system is strengthened
with a wind stop. At wind blasts the wind
stop raises and stops wind, rain and snow from getting
into the inner tent. After wind blasts the wind
stop goes down.
Small ring for hanging light is situated in the upper
part of the inner tent.
Side stays are made of elastic chord. This reduces
pressure on a tent peg during strong wind and
compensates tension of the wet tent.
Air fl ows under ceiling of outer tent. Warm air fl ows up
between inner and outer tent. It takes away condensate,
combustion gas and steam with help of ventilation
system situated in the upper part ofthe tent.
The entrance into inner tent consists of two parts –
one part is mosquito mesh used in hot weather for
ventilation, another - for protecting inner tent in the
cold windy weather.
Even if tent is assembled correctly, wind blasts can
cause tangency of the outer and inner tents; there
is a side strap for prevention built in between outer
and inner tent.
Almost all tents have fast assembly system; inner tent is fixed to the poles with hooks; outer tent is fixed
in corners by Nexus buckles. That’s why Alexika tents are assembled in 3-5 minutes even if you’re doing
it for the first time in your life.
Alexika tents are equipped with guy lines; each of
them is attached to outer tent in two places. This
ensures greater wind and storm wind resistance.
Stays are brightly colored, meant to be seen in
grass at night.
It’s rather hard to put a wet tent into a standard
bag, and even harder if the zipper is broken. Thinking
about your comfort, we constructed a compression
bag with simple-to-use system of volume
regulation that enables you to pack even very wet
tent without problems.
SCHEME OF ASSEMBLING THE TENT WITH INNER POLES
1
2
3
4
Spread out the inner tent with the hooks
facing up.
Assemble the poles.
Insert the poles into the eyelets in the
corners of the tent.
Fasten the inner tent to the poles using
the hooks.
6
Pull the fl ysheet over the inner tent, insert
the short pole into the pockets on
the fl ysheet.
Insert the short pole. Adjust the belt of the inner tent, so that the outer tent doesn’t
touch the inner tent in case of strong wind or rain.
5 8
7
Fasten the inner tent to the poles by using the straps with Velcro. The entrances and ventilation
windows are marked with black color, which will help to place the fl ysheet on the poles
correctly.
Close all the entrances and stretch out the
fl ysheet and all the guy straps.
Hooks for fi xing the ends of the zippers, so that
the force is decreased. • Bright ropes, so that the
tent doesn’t become a «trap». • Except when it
rains heavily, the ventilation windows should
always be open. • We reinforced the mudfl ap, but
be careful when loading it with stones. • If you
add extra earth around the tent, it helps to keep
the tent dry during the rain.

2
Spread the fl ysheet, close all the zippers.
Then push the pole into the sleeve of
the tent and fi x the pole in the guy strap
of the tent.
Depending on the construction, the pole ends
with a «mushroom», which is inserted into
the eyelet of the strap on the tent, or into the
hollow tube. A dowel on the guy strap of the
tent is inserted into this tube.
3
Insert the poles and fi x them from one
side. Pull the fl ysheet over the poles.
Pull the fl ysheet over the poles, fi x the
other end of the pole on the other end
of the tent. Hang the inner tent, starting
with the far part of the tent, from the far
corner upwards.
4 5
Then push the pole into the sleeve of the tent and fi x the pole in the guy strap of the tent.
When disassembling the tent, push
the poles through the sleeves, do
not pull them out. Otherwise the
parts of the poles disconnect and
become blocked in the sleeve.
SCHEME OF ASSEMBLING THE “SEMI-BARREL” TENT
Fix the tent from one of the sides. Stretch the tent
full-length.
Close all the zippers, stretch the tent along the perimeter.
The loops for stretching
the mudfl ap are not
recommended to be used
for fi xing the tent.
The main loops fi x the tent.
Fix the tent from the other side. Hang the inner
tent, close the zippers and use the guys for
stretching the tent.
Bright ropes, so that the tent doesn’t become
a «trap».
• We reinforced the mudfl ap, but be careful
when loading it with stones.
• If you add extra earth around the tent, it
helps to keep the tent dry during the rain.
Except when it rains
heavily, the ventilation
windows should always
ALEXIKA > TENTS > HOW TO MAINTAIN A TENT PROPERLY
HOW TO MAINTAIN A TENT PROPERLY
Alexika produces reliable tents but it is very important to use your outdoor equipment properly.
It will not only add to equipment’s longevity but also save you lots of time you will otherwise spend on
solving problems occurring of improper use of equipment. Please read following tips carefully.
1. ALWAYS READ MANUAL BEFORE ASSEMBLING AND USING THE TENT. It will reduce
the risk of damaging tent during the fi rst assembling. Manual is included in every tent, but you can
always fi nd it online: www.alexika.eu. Assemble the tent carefully. If you put too much force when assembling
a tent it means you’re doing something wrong and it can damage the tent or poles.
2. WHEN ASSEMBLING A TENT FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS:
• Choose flat terrain with minimal slope and take away all sharp things (e.g., stones, glass,
branches etc.)
• Try not to put up a tent under trees with big dry branches. In case of strong wind those branches
can fall and damage the tent.
• Do not light a fire near the tent. Sparks won’t set the tent on fire but will leave small holes on
the outer tent.
• Do not put up a tent somewhere on a high terrain or under big alone-standing trees because
there is a high risk of lightning strike.
• Do not assembly a tent in lowland where water can gather during rain. It is always better to
protect a tent with a small hill of ground all around its perimeter.
• Always try to put up a tent in the tree shadow and not in direct sunrays: outer tent fabric will
lose color and durability in the sun. It happens with all tents produced by all manufacturers.
The most sun and ultraviolet resistant tents are those with silicone treatment. Moreover, a
tent standing in the sun heats up quickly and it is almost unbearable to stay inside. Almost
all Alexika tents have effective ventilation system that helps to create a constant airflow and
prevent hot air from staying inside the tent.
• Always use guy lines and pegs when pitching a tent. Wind always starts unexpectedly and ungrounded
tent can easily collapse and roll on the ground. When rolling the outer tent can tear
and poles can break.
• Try to put up a tent in place protected from wind. Always try to have the entrance on the downwind
side.
3. CONDENSATE. It is not a problem of tent construction but rather a physical process of condensing
moisture from the air by temperature drop. You face condensate mainly on the inner part of the
fl ysheet. Amount of condensate depends on general humidity, ground wetness, number of people
in tent, ventilation system and cooking in tent. It is highly important to keep ventilation windows
always open except for heavy rain and wind. As a rule condensate appears in the morning and then
evaporates during the day if you open all ventilation windows in the tent.
4. TENT CARE INSTRUCTIONS.
• The tent has to be stored dry. If you store a wet tent, in 2-3 days it will addle and then will be
covered with mold. The smell of addling tent is almost unbearable and it is impossible to get
rid of it. So you should always dry a tent after use.
• Clean the tent from mud and dust with soft cloth and soapy water. Do not use abrasive cleaning
products.
• Never clean a tent in the washing machine or iron it.
• If you see even a small hole or tear on the tent, repair it as soon as possible.
• Do not bend and pack the tent according to old bends because with time it will cause damage of PU
treatment of fabric. Always pack tent PU treated layer inside.
All these recommendations are proved by time and numerous tourists and climbers around the
world. If you follow these simple tips your outdoor equipment will be with you for a long time.

COMFORT IN DETAILS IN ALEXIKA SLEEPING BAGS
There is a special space in the hood for a pillow.
Any soft piece of outfi t can be used as a
pillow and put in that special pocket. This is
an element of the Soft Space System.
The tightening of the upper part of the hood
with fl at rope, the bottom part – with round
elastic rope. Both are fi xed with the plastic
hook. The difference in the form of the ropes
allows to fi nd the necessary rope on the touch.
ALEXIKA SLEEPING BAG
Filling is formed into blocks, which are shifted
from one another for the length of the half
block. This decreases the heat loss and stops
cold air from getting into the sleeping bag.
All loose stitches and stiff elements are covered
with soft cushions. We don’t use Velcros
in our sleeping bags because they irritate skin
and tear thermo-underwear. This is an element
of the Soft Space System.
The sleeve of the warming collar tightening is located
7 cm away from the border of the warming collar
towards the outer part of the collar. So, when the
tightening rope is pulled, a warm roll is formed. This
doesn’t hurt the shoulders or the neck. The end of
the tightening rope can be hidden in a special small
pocket so that it won’t disturb you during sleep.
ANOTHER SLEEPING BAG
Warming strap along the zipper prevents cold
air from getting into the sleeping bag. Sleeping
bags also have “anti-catch” webbing along
the zipper. This is part of the Protective Shell
System.
ALEXIKA SLEEPING BAG
Insulation collar is 360º round and fastens on
buttons. The tightening rope is situated on
collarbone level. The tightening rope cord is
7 cm away from the border of the warming
collar and when tightened forms a soft roll
along the chest.
ALEXIKA SLEEPING BAG
Feet-area of sleeping bag is box-type made.
This adds comfort to your sleep and improves
general insulation of sleeping bag. This is an
element of the Soft Space System.
Insulation collar is stitched into side seam of
the sleeping bag. The tightening rope is situated
behind the shoulder. When pulled tightly
only one shoulder is covered and the cord
disturbs you during sleep. Velcros tear your
USEFUL INFORMATION > DESCRIPTION OF MATERIALS
DESCRIPTION OF FABRIC AND MATERIALS USED
N Y LON 6.6 30D 250T RIP STOP SILICON PU, 3000 mm H2O (outer tent fabric)
The fabric is made of strong polyamide threads 30 Den thick; density of plaiting is 250x250 T (thread
count) on square inch. In order to make fabric more durable without adding weight it is plaited with
stronger and fi rmer thread (RIP STOP) every 3 mm in longitudinal and transversal directions. Outer side
of the fabric is treated with thin layer of Silicon that prevents moisture from penetrating the fabric and
also protects the fabric from UV radiation. Inner side of the tent is treated with polyurethane (PU) that
not only makes tent more water-resistant but also enables gluing the seams which is a must if you’re
planning to use a tent in rainy weather. Water-resistance of fabric is 3000 mm of water gauge minimum
(the fabric will withhold 3000 mm of water pressure before it begins soaking wet). Nylon 6.6 is most
stiff and elastic fabric on the market in fabric features/weight ratio. Nylon 6.6 greatly holds wind and
UV radiation.
POLYESTER 190T PU, 4000 mm H2O (outer tent fabric)
Fabric made of polyester threads with plaiting density 190x190 T (Thread Count). Fabric is treated with
polyurethane that makes the fabric water-resistant up to 4000 mm H2O (the fabric holds up to 4000 mm of
water pressure before it begins soaking). During independent tests the water resistance of this fabric exceeded
10 000 mm of water gauge. The fabric is vapor-permeable, but outer side of the fabric has special water
repellent treatment for better water resistance.
POLYESTER RIPSTOP LIGHT WR (inner tent)
The fabric made of strong polyester threads. In order to make fabric more durable without adding weight
it is plaited with stronger and firmer thread (RIP STOP) every 4 mm in longitudinal and transversal
directions. The fabric is vapor-permeable but in order to increase water resistance it has special water
repellent treatment.
POLYESTER 150D OXFORD PU, 6000 mm H2O (floor)
The fabric is made of strong polyester threads 150D thick. Plaiting is performed in Oxford type. The
fabric has a polyurethane (PU) treatment that ensures water resistance up to 6000 mm of water
gauge (the fabric holds up to 6000 mm of water pressure before it soaks). During independent tests
water resistance of this fabric exceeded 10 000 mm. The fabric is stiff and durable.
POLYETHYLENE, 4000 mm H2O (floor)
The fabric is made of polyethylene fi ber. The fabric is water resistant 4000 mm H2O (the fabric holds up
to 4000 mm H2O before it soaks). Though it is heavier the fabric is stiff and durable.
NYLON 210T RIPSTOP PU, 250 mm H2O (outer fabric)
The fabric is made of stiff polyamide threads (nylon) with plaiting density of 210x210 T (Thread
Count) on square inch. In order to add stiffness and durability the fabric is strengthened with
stronger thread (RIP STOP) that is plaid into the fabric every 2 mm in longitudinal and transversal
directions. The fabric has thin polyurethane (PU) treatment that makes fabric water resistant and
wind impermeable. Water resistance of fabric is 250 mm of water gauge (the fabric holds up to 250
mm of water pressure before soaking). All these qualities are used in Protective Shell technology
to create an insulation space.
NYLON 210T RIPSTOP (outer fabric)
The fabric is made of stiff polyamide threads (nylon) with plaiting density of 210x210 T (Thread
Count) on square inch. In order to add stiffness and durability the fabric is strengthened with
stronger thread (RIP STOP) that is plaid into the fabric every 2 mm in longitudinal and transversal
directions. The fabric is vapor-permeable and breathable. In Protective Shell system it ensures
insulation and evaporation of excessive moisture.
POLYESTER 190T DIAMOND RIPSTOP PU 250 mm H2O (outer fabric)
The fabric is made of stiff polyester threads with plaiting density of 190x190 T (Thread count) on
square inch. In order to increase durability and resistance to abrasion without adding unnecessary
weight the fabric is plaited with extra strong thread (RIP STOP) every 2 mm in longitudinal and
transversal directions. Diamond type plaiting is used for this fabric. The fabric is treated with a thin
layer of polyurethane (PU) that makes fabric impermeable to wind and moisture. Water resistance
of the fabric is 250 mm of water gauge (the fabric holds water pressure of 250 mm before it begins
soaking). All these features are used in Protective Shell technology for creating insulation space.
POLYESTER 190T (outer fabric)
The fabric is made of stiff polyester threads with plaiting density 190x190 T (Thread Count) on
square inch. The fabric is vapor-permeable and ‘breatheable’. In Protective Shell system it provides
thermoregulation and evaporation of excessive moisture.
VS NYLON RIP STOP LIGHT SILICON W/R 32 g/m 2 (outer fabric)
The fabric is very stiff and lightweight, it weighs only 32 g/m 2 and is made of nylon threads. In order
to add stiffness and durability the fabric is strengthened with stronger thread (RIP STOP) that is
plaid into the fabric every 2 mm in longitudinal and transversal directions. The fabric is treated with
a thin layer of Silicon for better wind and water resistance qualities.
