MERO (UK) erhielt den Auftrag
die Langham Street Fassade des
Old Broadcasting House des BBC
Gebäudes am Portland Place in
London mit einer hinterlüfteten
Doppelfassade zu umhüllen.
Für dieses Projekt wurden zwei
Fassadentypen entwickelt. Die
Innenfassade besteht aus einer
Stahl-Aluminiumkonstruktion
bzw. einer reinen Aluminium-
Glasfassade. Die nach oben offene
punktgehaltene Außenhaut aus
Verbundglas ist mit Edelstahlschwertern
abgehängt.
Insgesamt wurden bei diesem
Projekt ca. 3.800 m 2 Glas,
108 t Stahl und 68 t Edelstahl
verarbeitet.

MERO (UK) received the order to
design and enclose the Langham
Street facade of the Old Broadcasting
House of the BBC building
at Portland Place in London with a
fully ventilated twin facade.
For this project, two types of
facades were developed. The inner
skin consists of a steel/aluminum
type curtain walling system and an
aluminum curtain walling system
respectively. The outer skin is a
point-supported laminated glass
facade and is suspended from
stainless steel hangers.
The project required a total of
approx. 3,800 sqm of glass,
108 tons of steel and 68 tons of
stainless steel.
