Johannes Wohnseifer.
10 Years of Painting
After a series of smaller catalogues, this monograph gives an overview of Johannes
Wohnseifer’s paintings from over the past ten years. Beginning with the pictures that
were produced for the 1999 exhibition German Open in the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg,
then to the Primer Pictures, which deliberately look half-fi nished and are only painted
with primer, up to the Lightweight Paintings—perforated, monochrome aluminium
pictures, that are related to a mural in the same colour. Finally, the newest series of pictures
Private Collection, produced for the exhibition in Oslo in 2009, is presented. This
group of works is made up of un-painted or undeveloped ideas from the last ten years.
