Several texts of the following tale have already been<br />

I. That by Keating in his Forus Feasa air Eirimi, Dub-<br />

lin, 1881, pp. 370—376, with a translation by Halliday, 1<br />

partially in the Transactions of the Gaelic Society of Dublin,<br />

Dublin 1808, with a translation by O'Flanagan.<br />

II. A text entitled Oidhe Chloinne Uisneach, beginning<br />

"Fledh mhedhairchaein mhór-adhbhal do rinnad le Conchubar<br />

mac Fachtna Fáthaigh" and ending "Ag sin oidhe chloinne<br />

Uisnidh go nuige seo". This was published with an English<br />

translation by O'Flanagan in the above mentioned Transactions,<br />

pp. 16 — 134. O'Curry (Atlantis III, 378) says, that it is<br />

taken from an 18th century paper ms., marked H. 1. 6 (fol. 50 b ),<br />

in the library of Trinity College, Dublin. It has lately been<br />

reprinted in the Gaelic Journal.<br />

III. A text beginning Cid dia mboi loingeas mac<br />

nllisnig? and ending Luingios mac n-Uislinn annsin, acas<br />

fochunn luingius Fcrguso, acas agaidh Deirdre — Finit. This<br />

also was published with an English translation by O'Flanagan<br />

in the same Transactions, pp. 146— 176. O'Curry (ubi supra)<br />

says, that it appears to have been taken from the 18th cen-<br />

tury ms. H. 1. 13 (fol. 323) in the same library. Windisch<br />

says, that it agrees sehr genau with the Egerton version No. V<br />

in the list. It has lately been reprinted in the Gaelic Journal.<br />

IV. The text in the Yellow Book of Lecan, a ms. in<br />

the library of Trinity College, Dublin, marked H. 2. 16. The<br />

tale begins at col. 749 and ends col. 753; and O'Curry says,<br />

that this part of the codex was compiled in the year 1391.<br />

It was published with an English translation by O'Curry in<br />

the Atlantis vol. Ill, and (according to him) is entitled Loin-<br />

gas mac n-Uislcand andso, begins thus: 'Cid dianibai longos<br />

mac nUisnich?' and ends 'Longus mac nUislind, ocus longus<br />

Fergusa ocus aided Derdrinni . Finit'.<br />
