Musicali Meranesi
Tutto ebbe inizio a Merano 25 anni fa. Le settimane
musicali meranesi furono ideate nel 1986 come
rassegna di musica da camera, per poi assurgere nei
due decenni a venire, ed a piccoli passi, a evento multisettoriale.
Attualmente l‘offerta soddisfa le esigenze
di un moderno festival musicale: le localizzazioni
sono limitate così come l‘ambito temporale; i singoli
concerti sono strettamente collegati tra loro. La promozione
delle settimane musicali fa leva sull‘immagine
turistica della città termale, con la sua atmosfera
mondana. Chi si ferma a soggiornare in città tra fine
agosto e fine settembre può assistere più volte la
settimana all‘esibizione di interpreti di spicco dei più
disparati stili musicali senza dover per questo lasciare
la città; ad ogni modo, per tradizione, Merano è solita
puntare sulla qualità anziché sulla massa. «Vi sono
sicuramente festival che offrono molti più concerti di
noi, ma ciò che ci preme è per l‘appunto di portare a
Merano solo i migliori solisti ed i migliori ensemble»

25 th anniversary of the
Merano Music Festival
It all started in Merano/Meran 25 years ago. The
Merano Music Festival was established in 1986 as a
showcase for chamber music, but over two decades
it has become, slowly but surely, a multi-music event.
Although the current Music Festival is very similar to
a modern music festival, locations are as limited as
the time available, so the concerts are closely linked
to each other. Moreover, these weeks are promoted
using the typical tourist image of the spa town, with
its atmosphere of high society. Visitors who are in
Merano between the end of August and the end of
September can attend, at various times in the week,
events with famous artists playing the most diverse
of music styles, all without leaving Merano itself. The
city has always concentrated on providing quality
rather than mere quantity and these weeks are a case
in point. “There are certainly other festivals that offer
many more concerts than we do”, says Andreas
Cappello, the artistic director of the Merano Music
Festival, “but our hallmark is that we showcase only
the best soloists and the best ensembles”.
