Subject: Requesting your involvement in my PhD research
Dear XYZ,
I am writing to ask if you may be interested in participating in some on-line research
for my PhD in education policy. I am looking for a panel of international education and
communication experts with different point of views. As I was looking for interesting

To introduce myself: I work as an e-learning expert in different areas. My current
prime project is eVideo at this HTW Berlin. I have initiated and planned the whole
eVideo chain as a modern blended learning network for extra-occupational studies. I
moderate the eVideo courses and conferences and I am a lecturer at the HTW Berlin in
the fields of e-learning, Usability, workflow management und web 2.0. Some time ago,
I've decided to get my research focused. I'm doing my PhD studies at the University of
Kassel, Germany. My adviser is Prof. Dr. Bernd Overwien, whose professorship is the
didactics for political education. I'm involved in a graduate colloquium
called inFORSCH.
Part of my thesis is this on-line survey, which will be completed during February. I am
seeking a balanced panel of 20 to 30 female experts, in the fields of education or digital
technology, and would be very pleased if you agreed to participate. As everything
works on-line, you will be able to go into the site multiple times, as you wish, and add
more information and views. You will be able to see the (anonymous) views of the
other panel members and be able to respond and add. The total processing time is
scaled between 20 minutes and 2 hours according to individual interests. In this way, I
hope to be able to access the considered views and experiences of an international
panel and I am sure that the output will be very valuable. Of course, I share with you
my results as soon as possible (probably early 2011).
