Tailor-made: Humboldt Foundation optimises sponsorship programmes and funding provisions
Our new system of sponsorship, dispensing with age limits,
takes greater account than ever before of the career situation
of the individuals sponsored.
Fellowships for postdoctoral researchers are longer, making
reliable planning much easier. Experienced researchers profit
from greater flexibility and can divide their fellowships up
into a maximum of three blocks.

be part of a worldwide network.
Funding provisions have also been enhanced. Researchers
from developing countries and junior researchers returning
to Germany are now eligible for a return fellowship. And
another innovation is an allowance for research costs of up
to 800 EUR per month.
