Building Collaborative Network of SMEs
The aim of this research is to offer an intuitive and methodological proposal able
to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in overcoming competitive
pressure and problems resulting from the globalisation phenomenon.
Collaborative Network
A proposal to build a collaborative regional network
is presented. This network should be fostered by
the interaction of all public and private actors in a
region.
The problem scope is categorised with respect to
the level of network integration:
• inter-organizational integration
• intra-sectoral integration
The inter-organisational integration can be further
sub-classified into three linked stages: two-tier
integration, chain-tier integration, and network
integration.

to solve problems.

The process model is organized in five main activities:
Collaborative Network Development, Strategy
and Planning Definition, Tactical and Operational
Management, Execution and Analysis and Knowledge
Creation.
A special focus is on the role of logistics service providers.
