Phase diagrams of ternary and quaternary<br />
Ti-Al based systems<br />
The thermodynamic properties of two g-TiAl based systems Ti-Al-Mo and Ti-Al-<br />
Nb-Mo are investigated and described. A new thermodynamic description of the<br />
Ti-Al-Mo ternary system in the Ti-rich region is provided.<br />
The thermodynamic quantities such as Gibbs energies<br />
are modeled based on the CALPHAD method.<br />
Again, the thermodynamic functions of the phases of<br />
interest (a, a2, b and g) in the Ti-Al-Mo system are<br />
optimized by using the PARROT module of software<br />
ThermoCalc. An acceptable agreement between the<br />
calculations and experimental data in the quaternaryTi-Al-Nb-Mo<br />
system in the a, a2, b and g-region is<br />
achieved (Fig. 2).<br />

The ternary interaction parameters are optimized by the<br />
PARROT module of the ThermoCalc software. The model<br />
parameters were evaluated by searching for the best fit<br />
of the available experimental data. The optimization is<br />
focussed on the range of 0~30 Mo at.% and temperature<br />
higher than 1000 K (Fig.1).<br />
