another application of iconic representations can also further understanding. Students who were
instructed pursuant to the teaching concept on hand showed a greater understanding of Newton’s
concept of force.
As several ideas were implemented in the teaching concept and an additional teacher training took
place, the positive results can not be attributed to one single teaching variable. As the developed
ideas were in fact well received in class and caused changes there, it can be called an effective further
teacher training with a transfer effect.
