Step 1 (You have 25 minutes.)
For the discussion in class on the Arizona immigration law prepare a statement
commenting on the two differing positions as expressed in the radio interview and
the article (around 1 -3 min.).
� Make notes using information from both sources and adding your own ideas.
� Then practice your statement with a partner and choose one for the presentation
in a larger group.
� Afterwards work in groups, present your statements and choose the one you
consider the best.
Step 2
Each group presents the best statement in front of the class.
Step 3
Discuss the issue in class.
Step 4
Evaluate the arguments and the communicative strategies used in the statements
and the discussion (Steps 2+3).
