1 For a project in your English class on immigration to the US you have been asked to
prepare a discussion about the immigration law planned by the state of Arizona for
2010. This law would make it a crime to be in the country illegally. It would also
give police the power to stop and check the immigration status of anyone suspected
of having entered the state unlawfully.
For your discussion you need to find out a few details about the different positions
on this issue:
First, listen to an interview with a woman about the consequences that the Arizona
immigration law might have for her family.
While listening, fill in the table below (key words will do).
