You are Peter Walker, the local Member of Parliament. In your neighbourhood
there is a lot of racial tension, caused by many ethnic groups living together. This
is why there are various initiatives intended to bring the young people together.
One of these initiatives is the ‛Free Beats and Rhymes Workshop“ advertised in
the poster above. You would like to support this workshop, but you need more information
about it. What is more, you want to include citizens of all ages, not only
the 12 to 17 year-olds. This is why you contact Nissa, the youth worker responsible
for the project.
You have asked Nissa to meet you at your office in order to discuss the workshop.
In your conversation, you are expected to
- explain your personal commitment to the neighbourhood.
- ask for more information about the workshop.
- allude to the fact that public money is involved in this project.
- try to convince Nissa of your idea not to restrict workshop participation to
12 to 17-year-olds.
At the end of the conversation, Nissa and you are expected to come to an agreement.
