5 Imagine you are an exchange student at a school in London. This school organises
a project to celebrate and improve intercultural relationships in the neighbourhood.
As part of the project, there will be a festival with music and food from the
different neighbours’ home countries to which all the people from the area are invited.
You have been asked to contribute to the programme.
You are expected to
- address the people present.
- introduce yourself, giving some background information.
- comment on the project and the purpose of the festival as well as on your
involvement in it.
- appeal to the audience, expressing the need to open up to each other’s
cultures (advantages – difficulties).
- express your hopes for the future.
Prepare the speech taking notes of your main ideas.
Make a speech of about five minutes.
