23.–25. März 2007: Im Botanischen Museum findet das
„First Central European Diatom Meeting“ mit 109 Teilnehmern
aus 20 Nationen statt.

European Diatom Meeting with 109 participants from 20
countries.
1. April 2007: Eine Betriebsgesellschaft (BG BGBM
GmbH), zu 100% im Eigentum der Freien Universität,
übernimmt die Serviceaufgaben in Garten und Museum.
Am 16. 8. 2007 werden BG BGBM und „Cost Center Garten“
in einem Gemeinschaftsbetrieb zusammengefasst.
1 April 2007: An operating company (BGBM GmbH), 100 per
cent owned by the Freie Universität, assumes the running of services
in the garden and museum. On 16 August 2007 BGBM
GmbH and ‘Cost Center Garten’ are combined into a single operating
company.
10. Juli 2007: Bundespräsident Horst Köhler besucht Garten
und Museum.

1. März 2008: Dienstantritt des neuen Direktors Thomas
Borsch, der in Personalunion auch als Professor an die
Freie Universität berufen wird.

simultaneously being appointed professor at the Freie Universität.
Seit Juli 2008: Erstmals in der Geschichte des BGBM werden
inhaltliche Profilschwerpunkte festgelegt: Asternartige,
Nelkenartige, Kieselalgen, Cuba, Europäisch-Mediterraner
Raum, Biodiversitätsinformatik, Weltgarten und
Bildung.
Since July 2008: For the first time in its history, the BGBM establishes
subject-related research foci in the following areas: Asterales,
Caryophyllales, Bacillariophyta, Cuba, Euro-Mediterranean region,
biodiversity informatics, ‘world garden’ and education.
18. Juli 2009: Die erste „Botanische Nacht“ lockt mehr als
8000 Besucher in Garten und Museum.
