treaty with Ukrainian People’s Republic
(signed on February 9, 1918). – The collection
contains: The menu card of the «Abendessen»
on December 27, 1917, the evening before the
Central Powers withdraw from the conference
to consider the Bolshevik peace proposals. With
39 signatures of the delegates, among them the
signatories of the Peace Treaty on March 3, 1918
and Old Bolsheviks and Revolutionaries like Lev
Kamenev, Fokke, Bitsenko, Lev Martov, Altfater
and Weltman Pavlowitsch. – The menu card of
the «Abendessen» on February 9, 1918 given by
Prince Leopold of Bavaria to celebrate the conclusion
of the negotiations between the Central
Powers and the Ukrainian People’s Republic, the
so called «Brotfrieden» (Bread-Peace), and also
the birthday of Prince Leopold of Bavaria, whose
photograph is on the front cover of the menu
card ornamented with hand colored coat of arms
of Bavaria. With 34 signatures of the delegates,
among them the signatories of the «Brotfrieden»:
Oleksandr Sevriuk, Mikola Ljubinsky, Richard von
Kühlmann, Max Hoffmann, Count Ottokar von
Czernin, Vasil Radoslavov, Andrey Slavov Toscheff,
Ivan Stoyanovich, Mehmet Talaat Pasha, Ibrahim
Hakki Pasha, Ahmed Izzet Pasha, Ahmed Nessimi
Bey. – A printed menu card of the «Abendessen»
on January 12, 1917, with a signed portrait in
pencil on the verso by Emil Orlik the Viennese
Secessionist artist, who attended the conference
by the invitation of the German State Secretary
Richard von Kühlmann. He drew portraits of all
representatives which were published in the album
«Brest-Litowsk» (1918) as a gift for the participants
of the conference. – 11 printed menu cards between
December 23, 1917 and February 2, 1918 with
notes in pencil (names and signatures, notes in
German and English). – 38 printed menucards
between December 23, 1917 and February 11,
1918. Includes a special, folding «Speisenfolge»
card on January 7, 1918 ruled in blue, the color
of Bavaria, the ordinary «Speisenfolge» card of the
day with different dishes is also included. – And a
printed list of the earliest delegates and their places
of accommodation (building and room numbers).
