boards, spine in six compartments with raised
bands, metal clasps, blue edges (extremities
lightly rubbed). CHF 10 000.–
Provenance: Gieri Casura (bookplate). – Title printed
in red and black, 13 section titles with woodcut
armorial borders, 23 woodcut maps, including 8
full-page and 5 double-page, numerous woodcut illustrations
of town views, historical events, portrait
medallions, animals and coats of arms.
One of the great Swiss chronicles. Second edition
of Stumpf ’s survey, much expanded from the
first edition of 1548 also published by Froschauer
