Ziel der Akkreditierung
To ensure the JAS-ANZ accreditation process enhances trans-Tasman trade and achieves international recognition of the excellence of Australian and New
Zealand goods and services.
Grundlage/Organisation
JAS-ANZ is a not for profit, self funding international organisation established under a Treaty between the Governments of Australia and New Zealand on 30
October 1991 to act as the joint accreditation body for Australia and New Zealand for certification of management systems, products and personnel. On 28
March 1996 a regulation was made under the Australian International Organizations (Privileges and Immunities) Act 1963 declaring JAS-ANZ to be an international
organisation to which the Act applies. New Regulations re-affirming JAS-ANZ's status were made on 18 June 1998.
Zusammenarbeit mit den Behörden The structure of the organisation is outlined in this chart. JAS-ANZ operations are overseen by a Governing Board comprising of ten members, six of whom
are appointed by the Australian Government, and three by the New Zealand Government.

under the leadership of the Chief Executive, the operational function is managed by the Director Operations, under whom are the 4 client managers and an
Operation Coordinator. The Quality Manager reports directly to the Chief Executive. The JAS-ANZ Secretariat has two office sites respectively in Canberra of
Australia and Wellington of New Zealand. The New Zealand office has one staff member who is acting as an auditor, the country/
client manager as well as the liaison person with the government of New Zealand.
