All NATA accredited organisations are members of the Association.
NATA is guided and monitored by a Board drawn from its Council. The Council comprises elected Association members and representatives from industry,
government and professional bodies.

NATA is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee (not for profit, income tax exempt body).
There is extensive cooperation with Authorities including representation of the Federal and all State Governments on NATA's Council.
There is also extensive use of NATA accreditation by regulatory and other bodies in Australia and much of this is contained in various laws and regulations. A
comprehensive listing of acceptance by such authorities is maintained on NATA's website.

It also has bilateral MRA with IANZ for its Inspection Body Accreditation program.

About 75% of NATA's annual income is from accreditation fees, and additional income is provided by the Federal government for national interest activities
(7%), and from training programs and aid projects for foreign accreditation bodies. NATA's fee scale is published on its website.
