Gesetz: Law on the conformity assessment of the Republic of Lithuania approved by the Parliament at 6 October 1998
The law covers regulated and non-regulated sectors and defines the structure of conformity assessment system, subjects of conformity assessment, functions
of the participants of the system and their responsibilities

Description in the law of conformity assessment
Authorised institutions shall establish the order of conformity assessment in the mandatory area. Only the notified or accredited certification and inspection
bodies and testing laboratories shall participate in the conformity assessment activities.
In the non-mandatory area, conformity assessment shall be conducted on a voluntary basis.
LA assess the certification and inspection bodies and testing laboratories proposed for notification by authorised institutions.
LA performs surveillance of the activities of accredited and notified CABs.

Fees approved by Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau and agreed with the Competition Council of the Republic of Lithuania.
Accreditation expenses are based on the time spent for accreditation process by involved experts.
