ducing vulcanisation times by 20 to 25 per
cent. “Overall we can guarantee lower
energy consumption and a remarkable
gain in curing efficiency. This means significant
cost savings.”
Initially the Eco-Line, which the company
promotes as a “real revolution” in
mould cure retreading, was developed
alongside the company’s conventional curing
presses, particularly the RP 11 press
developed for the retreading of OTR tyres
up to 49-inches. With the knowledge gained
through developing the RP 11 Eco-Line,
other presses in the RP product range
have also been the subject of modification
and modernisation. Since this time, the
Eco-Line system has been updated and
modified to fit every other press in the RP
series. These include smaller presses for
passenger car and 4x4 tyres, medium size
presses for light commercial vehicle tyres,
larger presses for truck and bus tyres and
the very large presses for 25 to 63-inch diameter OTR tyres.
The largest of these curing presses – the RP 14 – recently entered
the market and completes the RP press product line-up. The first RP 14
will soon be delivered to a retreader in Australia. The RP 11 has been in
service with a customer in the USA for around a year, engaged in the
bead-to-bead retreading of 27.00R49 tyres. Significantly, during the
Autopromotec show CIMA Impianti sold the very first Eco-Line press, to
Spain’s Industrias del Neumatico, one of Europe’s leading retreaders.
In addition to curing presses, the subject of sizeable investments
from the Italian equipment manufacturer in recent years, further products
have recently been added to the CIMA range. Examples of these
new items include the new buffing machine for OTR tyres up to 63-inches
in diameter or a new automatic veneering unit for the refurbish-
The new "Eco-Line" curing presses delivers real savings and according to the manufacturer reduces mould cure
retreading costs by 30 per cent
ment of 4x4 or light commercial vehicle tyre sidewalls.
All machines and moulds are entirely developed and produced by
CIMA Impianti in Italy. “Today we can offer the widest range of hot curing
presses in the world thanks to our experience and know-how acquired
over 60 years of experience. We want to transform the current
global economic crisis into an opportunity to grow,” concludes Alessandro
Vignolini. “Today we believe that no industry can avoid confronting
the energy and time consumed and the number of people involved
in any production process. For retreaders to remain competitive,
they must pay particular attention to their overall production costs and
increase productivity. CIMA Impianti, with the new Eco-Line series, has
the answer. arno.borchers@reifenpresse.de/sg
