The beam is continuously analyzedfor the presence of smoke with advancedmicroprocessor-based technology determining andtriggering the alarm.Controllable from the ground-level mounted controlunit, the system is designed to be mounted so thebeam will project between 1 ft. (0.31m) and 2 ft.(0.61m) below and parallel to the ceiling. Lateraldetection may be up to 30 ft. (9.144m) on either sideof the beam, providing a maximum total coverage areaof up to 19,800 square feet or 1,829 square meters.The F5000 detectors can communicate with FaradayMPC-6000 and MPC-7000 fire alarm panels.F2000 Projected Beam Smoke DetectorUsing a modulated infrared light beam to a receiver,the F2000 system consists of a transmitter and receiverpair. The received signal is analyzed by a controller andif smoke is present in the beam path for more than 8seconds, a fire relay is activated, depending on thesensitivity level set at the controller.Controllable from the ground-level mounted controlunit, the system is designed to be mounted so that thebeam will project between 1 ft. (0.305 m) and 2 ft.(0.61m) below and parallel to the ceiling. Lateraldetection may be up to 30 ft. (9.144m) either side ofthe beam, providing maximum total coverage area ofup to 19,000 sq. feet or 1,829 sq. meters.
