Elma 811 + 817 + 515 side 65Auto leads resistance calibrationWhen you enter the 50Ω range manually by pressing the RANGE button for high precision lowresistance measurement, this feature will prompt you to short the inputs for calibration. The displayshows “Shrt”. Simply short the leads for about 3 seconds until the display shows zero, then theresistance in the leads and in the internal protection circuitry of the meter is compensatedautomatically. The compensation value can be as high as 5Ω. If you need a compensation value thatis higher than that, relative mode is recommended.The shortcut is to short the test leads in auto-ranging resistance mode until the meter enters thelowest 50Ω range automatically, press the RANGE button momentarily to get the “Shrt” prompt,then wait about 3 more seconds until the display shows zero.Note: The calibration stays until you change ranges, functions, or go back to auto-ranging mode.
