EJ 96 Apollo
Design: Johannes Foersom &
Peter Hiort-Lorenzen, MDD
Med sine to identiske linseformede
dele i sæde og ryg
lever Apollo op til sit navn og
leder tankerne hen på en rumkapsel.
Stolens karakteristiske
kræmmerhus-effekt indbyder
til et trygt hvil. Forfra ses, at
sæde og ryg er tyndest på
midten, det øger komforten og
understreger linseformen.
Apollo er født af ønsket om en
stol, der kombinerer den lette
skalkonstruktion med siddekomforten
i en tungere hvilestol.
Apollo bruges i mange udfordrende
indretninger, blandt
andet på Statens Museum for
Kunst.
With its two identical lenticular
elements in seat and back
Apollo lives up to its name and
conjures up images of a capsule.
The characteristic cone-like
effect of the chair invites the
user to take a comfortable rest.
The narrowest point of the seat
and the back when seen from
the front is the middle, which
increases the level of comfort
and also accentuates the lentiform.
Apollo was created to
meet the wish for a chair that
combines a light shell construction
with the comfort of a
heavier-built easy chair. Apollo
can be found in many different
provocative interior settings,
including The Danish National
Gallery of Art.
