While walking in the morning at Seminary hills of Nagpur one feels
amazed as how the monsoon transforms the parched land in to a canvas
of greenery.
So many shades of green ...
Birds chirping with joy...
New Sprouts coming out of on where....
Rain Drops acting as elixir of life ...
But the same monsoon acts as nature's fury in opencast mines.
Mighty earth crunching HEMM standing idle helplessly..
Strong Haulroads - the life line of the mines turning in puddle of mud...
Hard work in preparing the roads and faces washed in few millimetres
of rain...
Water entering in the mine with gushing sound during heavy rains...
Power failures and installation-withdrawal of pumps...
The scenario is enough to create goose bumps to any mining engineer...
Years of experience has of course made us survive the challenge by
Monsoon preparation. During the days of struggle we should always
remember "This too will pass."
Team-Pragati wishes "All the Best" to our stalwarts fighting against
nature's fury, digging deep in the Bowel of mother earth and coming

"Partners in prosperity" commits Sri DC Garg for local populace
during meeting with Members of Parliament
Sri D.C. Garg Chairman cum MD
convened a meeting of Members of
Parliament within the command
area of Western Coalfields Limited
on the 13th July, 2011 at WCL Hq to
garner their proactive support and
guidance in resolving the issues
related with local populace in line
with instructions by Sri Sri Prakash
Jaiswal Hon'ble Union Minister of
Coal during the meeting of
Parliamentary Consultative
Committee at New Delhi on the 5th
July, 2011.
During the meeting, Sri Hansraj
Ahir, Member of Parliament,

initiatives by the company and laid
thrust on resolving the issue of

Sri Garg committed his will to make
the local populace Partners in the
Prosperity by means of employment
generation and CSR works. It is the
notable fact that WCL is the largest
tax payer of Vidarbha region by
depositing Rs. 1036 crores in the
coffers of the Government and it has
enhanced its CSR Budget to Rs. 23
crores.

Mr. D.C. Garg, Chairman-cum-
Managing Director, Western
Coalfields Limited, has been
conferred the "Performance
Excellence Award" by the Indian
Institution of Industrial Engineering
(IIIE) at 15th CEO's Conference held
in Goa from May 16 to18, 2011.
The award, which comprises a
citation and a trophy, was presented
to Mr. Garg by Mr. Digambar Kamat,
Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa.
Mr. Garg, who as CMD WCL,
