Dear musician - it’s good to see you<br />
Welcome to Skagen Festiv<strong>al</strong><br />
We’d like to take the opportunity to say hello and welcome to one of the most<br />
beautiful places in Denmark - and to the 38th Skagen Festiv<strong>al</strong>. We’re sure that you<br />
will enjoy yourself - we have done and will do our utmost to ensure that.<br />
Skagen Festiv<strong>al</strong> is the oldest festiv<strong>al</strong> in Denmark, and as <strong>al</strong>ways we have put<br />
together a varied programme of both well known & popular artists and new upand-coming<br />
ones. Some have been here before, others are here for the first time,<br />
and there is no doubt in our minds that you are <strong>al</strong>l going to have a great time here.<br />
There will be lots of good experiences, both music<strong>al</strong>ly and due to Skagen being<br />
such a speci<strong>al</strong> place - it re<strong>al</strong>ly is the top of Denmark in more ways than one. And<br />
<strong>al</strong>l you musicians who have travelled thousands of miles from <strong>al</strong>l over the world to<br />
sing and play for us will make this year’s festiv<strong>al</strong> yet another very speci<strong>al</strong> event for<br />
everybody here.<br />
Skagen Festiv<strong>al</strong> is known for its great qu<strong>al</strong>ity in <strong>al</strong>l senses of the word. We sincerely<br />
hope that you will enjoy everything here: the fresh air and fresh fish, the speci<strong>al</strong><br />
atmosphere in and around the town, the very speci<strong>al</strong> light, the sea, the beauty<br />
- and the people. And not least do we hope that you will enjoy your concert(s) here<br />
- and will <strong>al</strong>so enjoy the chance to meet your fellow musicians.<br />
The Ceilidh and the Sea Shanty are something speci<strong>al</strong> for this festiv<strong>al</strong> where<br />
musicians and audience <strong>al</strong>ike have two wonderful afternoons together. Amateurs<br />
and profession<strong>al</strong> musicians join forces and play together, and that creates pure<br />
magic for musicians and audience <strong>al</strong>ike.<br />
This festiv<strong>al</strong> has <strong>al</strong>ways been non-commerci<strong>al</strong>, and is run by as many as 700<br />
volunteers. If you have any problem whatsoever at the festiv<strong>al</strong> please contact one<br />
of the volunteers, and everything will be done to help you. Just as everything is<br />
<strong>al</strong>ready done to ensure that <strong>al</strong>l the details around your stay here and your concert -<br />
sound, light and everything else - are in perfect order.<br />
We hope - and think - that you’ll enjoy your stay in Skagen.<br />
