Kromě krásných lesů se v některých jezerech
zrcadlí i několik architektonických skvostů, které
byste na severu těžko hledali. Fotografie do této
knihy vznikaly od roku 2014 a většinu momentů
jsem zachytil během podzimu 2017. Některé unikátní
snímky nám do knihy poskytl i legednární
letecký fotograf Petr Toman. Věřím, že díky této
knize si vychutnáte Jindřichohradecko pořádně
z vysoka. Z nebe!

Czech Canada. This beautiful place was given its
name by a local native, journalist and traveller, Jaroslav
Arnošt Trpák. I have never been to Canada, so
I named it Czech Finland for myself, since I had visited
Finland multiple times. Both Trpák and I came
up with this comparison, since we were impressed
by breath-taking view of the countryside full of lakes
and forests. I had the opportunity to experience it
from above and I must say that it appeared more interesting
than Finland. Besides beautiful forests, at
some lakes there were reflected even architectural
gems, which would be difficult to find in the North.
The photographs used in this book have been taken
since 2014 and I captured most of the moments during
the autumn of 2017. Some unique images have
even been provided for use in the book by legendary
aerial photographer Petr Toman. I am confident
that this book will enable you to enjoy viewing Jindřichův
Hradec from a bird’s-eye perspective. From
the sky, from the heaven!

Böhmisches Kanada. So wurde diese wunderschöne
Region von dem Einheimischen, Journalisten
und Reisenden, Jaroslav Arnošt Trpák, bezeichnet.
Ich bin nie in Kanada gewesen, also habe ich es für
mich selbst Böhmisches Finnland genannt, das ich
mehrmals besucht habe. So wie mich, so haben
bestimmt auch Trpák die faszinierenden Anblicke
auf die Landschaft voller Seen und Wälder dazu verleitet.
Ich hatte die Möglichkeit, sie aus der Luft zu
genießen und ich muss sagen, dass sie um Vieles
interessanter ist als Finnland. Neben den schönen
Wäldern spiegeln sich in einigen der Seen auch architektonische
Juwelen wider, die man im Norden
kaum finden kann. Die Fotos für dieses Buch sind
ab 2014 entstanden und die meisten habe ich im
Herbst 2017 gemacht. Einige der einzigartigen Bilder
lieferte für dieses Buch der legendäre Luftfahrtfotograf
Petr Toman. Ich bin davon überzeugt, dass
Sie dank diesem Buch die Region Jindřichův Hradec
von ganz oben auskosten können. Viele Grüße vom

OCHRANA ŽIVOTNÍHO
PROSTŘEDÍ NADE VŠE
Vzpomínáte, jak vám bylo krásně teplo,
když jste se na prázdninách u babičky
zahrabali do sena na půdě? Obyvatelé
Jindřichova Hradce si takové teplo dopřávají
denně a mohli by o tom vyprávět.
Životní prostředí je velmi diskutovaným tématem. Jedním
ze způsobů, jak příznivě ovlivnit stav klimatu, je co
nejčistší výroba energie. V jindřichohradeckém Energetickém
centru se zaměřili na zpracování biomasy
v podobě slisovaných balíků slámy a sena a technologie,
kterou v roce 2008 uvedli do provozu, byla svého
času ve střední Evropě naprosto unikátní. Mnozí teď
zapřemýšlejí, co to vlastně biomasa je? Biomasa je
souhrn látek tvořících těla všech organismů. Nejčastěji
je biomasou označována ta rostlinného původu,
která je využitelná pro energetické účely, jejíž energie
má svůj prapůvod ve slunečním záření a fotosyntéze.
Tato energie se pak uvolní spalováním. Slisované balíky
slámy a sena jsou v jindřichohradecké elektrárně
dopravovány do speciálního biomasového kotle, který
nahradil dva parní kotle spalující mazut a zemní plyn.
Kondenzační odběrová turbína pak zajišťuje výrobu
elektřiny, která pokryje roční spotřebu 15 000 domácností,
a dodávku tepla do dvou největších jindřichohradeckých
sídlišť. K takovému provozu je samozřejmě
potřebný pravidelný přísun paliva, kterého se v Energetickém
centru ročně spálí téměř 50 000 tun, což
představuje 130 000 balíků slámy a sena. Společnost
dlouhodobě spolupracuje s různými dodavateli z okolí,
kteří musí hlídat pouze jedno, a to vlhkost surovin.
Po usušení je nutné slámu a seno slisovat do balíků
daných rozměrů a ty uskladnit v suchém prostředí,
případně zabalit do fólie. K tomu slouží zařízení, které
dokáže zabalit celý stoh slámy a sena. Takže až
vás někdy na poli udiví slisovaný stoh slámy zabalený
do igelitu, víte, proč tomu tak je.
Ještě donedávna tvořila výroba elektrické energie
a tepla v Energetickém centru uzavřený cyklus. Co to
znamená? Z vypěstovaných travin a obilnin se po jejich
usušení stalo palivo pro výrobu elektrické energie
a tepla. Ze zbytků po spalování, tj. ze škváry a popílku,
se po smíchání stalo certifi kované hnojivo s vysokým
obsahem minerálních látek, které bylo aplikováno zpět
na pole jako výživa pro novou biomasu, čímž byl cyklus
uzavřen. V současné době Energetické centrum dělá
vše pro to, aby opět získalo certifi kaci směsi popílku
a škváry coby hodnotného hnojiva, o kterou přišlo legislativní
úpravou obsahu některých látek v hnojivu.

Do you remember how nice and warm
you were when you dug played in the
hay on the ground during the holidays at your
grandmother's? The inhabitants of Jindřichův
Hradec enjoy for themselves such warmth on
a daily basis and could tell you about it.
The environment is a highly discussed topic. One of the
ways to influence the climate is to carry out the cleanest possible
energy production. At the Energy Centre in Jindřichův
Hradec, they focused on processing bio mass in the form of
pressed bales of straw and hay, and the technology, which
in 2008 was put into operation, was absolutely unique in its
time in Central Europe. Will many people now think about
what exactly bio mass is? Bio mass is a collective set of
substances forming the bodies of all organisms. Bio mass
is most often described as being of plant origin and usable
for energy purposes while its energy has its origin in the

sun’s rays and photosynthesis. This energy is then released
through combustion process. The formed bales of straw and
hay are transported at the Jindřichův Hradec power plant
to a special bio mass boiler, which has replaced two steam
boilers burning black oil and natural gas. The condensing
extraction turbine then ensures production of electricity,
which covers the yearly consumption of 15,000 households
and supplies heat to the two largest housing complexes in
Jindřichův Hradec. For such operation, regular feed of fuel is
of course necessary and the Energy Centre annually burns
nearly 50,000 tonnes of it, which represents 130,000 bales
of straw and hay. The company has long cooperated with
various suppliers from the surroundings, who must watch
over only one thing, the moisture of raw materials. After
drying, it is necessary to press straw and hay into bales of
particular dimensions and store them in a dry environment
or wrap them in foil. This is done by equipment, which can
wrap an entire stack of straw and hay. So, the next time
someone in the field expresses surprise at a stack of straw
wrapped in plastic, you will know why.
Until recently, electricity and heat production had a closed
cycle at the Energy Centre. What does this mean? Cultivated
grasses and grain after drying became fuel for production
of electricity and heat. The remains left over by combustion,
cinders and ash, after mixing became a certified fertiliser
with high mineral content, which was put back on fields as
nutrients for new bio mass, which closed the cycle. Currently,
the Energy Centre is doing everything that it can to regain
certification of the mix of ash and cinders as a valuable fertiliser,
which it was stripped of by a legislative change in the
definition of the contents of certain substances in fertiliser.

Möglichkeiten, das Klima positiv zu beeinfl ussen,
ist die möglichst saubere Energieerzeugung. Im
Energiezentrum Jindřichův Hradec konzentriert
man sich auf die Verarbeitung von Biomasse in
Form von gepressten Stroh- und Heuballen und die
Technologie, die 2008 in Betrieb genommen wurde,
war zu ihrer Zeit in Mitteleuropa ganz einzigartig. Viele
Menschen fragen sich, was Biomasse eigentlich ist?
Biomasse ist die Summe der Stoffe, aus denen die
Körper aller Organismen bestehen. Am häufi gsten
wird diejenige Masse pfl anzlichen Ursprungs,
die für Energiezwecke genutzt werden kann und
deren Energie ihren Ursprung in Sonnenstrahlung
und Photosynthese hat, als Biomasse bezeichnet.
Diese Energie wird dann durch Verbrennung
freigesetzt. Stroh- und Heuballen werden im
Kraftwerk von Jindřichův Hradec an einen speziellen
Biomassekessel geliefert, der zwei Dampfkessel
ersetzt hat, die Öl und Erdgas verbrennen. Die
Kondensations-Entnahmeturbine sichert dann die
Stromproduktion, um den jährlichen Verbrauch
von 15.000 Haushalten und die Wärmeversorgung
der zwei größten Wohnsiedlungen von Jindřichův
Hradec zu decken. Für so einen Betrieb ist natürlich
eine regelmäßige Versorgung mit Brennstoffen
erforderlich. Im Energiezentrum werden jährlich etwa
50.000 Tonnen verbrannt, was 130.000 Stroh- und
Heuballen entspricht. Das Unternehmen arbeitet
langfristig mit verschiedenen Lieferanten aus der
Umgebung zusammen, deren Aufgabe nur darin
besteht, den Feuchtigkeitsgehalt der Rohstoffe
zu überwachen. Nach dem Trocknen müssen das
Stroh und das Heu in Ballen mit bestimmten Maßen
gepresst und in trockener Umgebung oder in Folie
verpackt aufbewahrt werden. Dazu dient ein Gerät,
das einen ganzen Stapel Stroh und Heu einwickeln
kann. Wenn Sie also einen zusammengepressten
Strohballen eingewickelt in Plastik auf dem Feld
sehen, dann wissen Sie, warum dem so ist.

Státní hrad a zámek Jindřichův Hradec
Tak jako mnoho starých hradů v Čechách, i hrad a zámek v Jindřichově Hradci má svou bílou paní.
Obvykle je zobrazována jako tajuplná dáma v bílých šatech s vysokým bílým kloboukem a hustým vlajícím závojem. Za pasem
nosí velký svazek klíčů, kterými chřestí, když se jí něco nelíbí, a barvou svých rukaviček věští budoucnost. Dodnes není úplně
jasné, kdo onou bílou paní vlastně byl. Podle jedné verze to mohla být Perchta z Rožmberka, která velmi trpěla v manželství
s Janem z Lichtenštejna. Muž ji týral a trápil a požádat o odpuštění ho napadlo, až když laskavá paní Perchta umírala. Ta mu
však nevyhověla, a proto ji Jan proklel. Musí obcházet na panství svých předků, dokud se nerozpadnou v prach. Ještě jedna
žena by mohla být bílou paní. Markéta z Hardeggu, druhá manželka Jindřicha II. Tato vlídná a laskavá paní byla mezi prostým
lidem velmi oblíbená. Přijížděla vždy v bílých šatech a patrně to byla ona, která v zámecké černé kuchyni začala na Zelený
čtvrtek vařit sladkou kaši pro chudé. Čas od času ji i po její smrti vídávali, celou v bílém, v pravé poledne shlížet z okna staré
věže, do které již nevedly žádné schody. Bílými rukavičkami zvěstovala narození děťátka, černé rukavičky znamenaly něčí
smrt. Hradecká bílá paní je dobrým duchem hradu a laskavou ochranitelkou všech trpících.
State Castle and Château Jindřichův Hradec
Just like many old castles in Bohemia, the Castle and Château in Jindřichův Hradec also has its own Lady in White.
She is usually depicted as a mysterious woman in a white dress with a tall white hat and a waving veil. She wears a set of
keys around her waist which she rattles to indicate that she does not like something and the colour of her gloves forecasts
the future. Today, it is not entirely clear who exactly the Lady in White was. According to one version of the story, she may
have been Perchta of Rožmberk, who suffered greatly with her husband, John of Lichtenstein. He tormented her and did not
decide to ask for forgiveness until Perchta had died. However, she did not forgive him, so John put a curse on her. She must
wander through the manor of her ancestors, until they collapse into dust. Another woman may have been the Lady in White.
Markéta of Hardegg, the second wife of Jindřich II. That friendly lady was very popular among common people. She always
appeared in a white dress and it was clearly she who on Green Thursday in the black kitchen began cooking porridge for the
poor. From time to time after her death, she has been seen, all in white at noon peering from the window of the old tower,
to which steps no longer lead. Her white gloves forecast the birth of a child and black gloves signify someone's death. The
Hradec Lady in White is a good spirit of the castle and the kind protector of all who suffer.
Staatliche Burg und Schloss Jindřichův Hradec
Genauso wie viele der alten Burgen in Böhmen, so hat auch die Burg und das Schloss in Jindřichův Hradec
seine Weiße Frau.
Meist wird sie als eine mysteriöse Dame in einem weißen Kleid, mit hohem weißen Hut und einem dichtem Schleier dargestellt.
An ihrer Taille trägt sie einen großen Schlüsselbund, mit dem sie rasselt, wenn ihr etwas nicht gefällt und mit der
Farbe ihrer Handschuhe sagt sie die Zukunft voraus. Bis heute ist nicht klar, wer die Weiße Frau tatsächlich war. Eine Version
besagt, dass es sich um Perchta von Rožmberk handelt, die sehr unter ihrer Ehe mit Jan von Liechtenstein gelitten hat. Der
Mann peinigte und quälte sie und bat erst dann um Vergebung, als die liebe Frau Perchta im Sterben lag. Sie vergab ihm
jedoch nicht und Jan verfluchte sie dafür. Sie muss auf der Herrschaft ihrer Vorfahren so lange umherwandern, bis diese
zu Staub verfallen. Noch eine weitere Frau könnte die Weiße Frau sein. Markéta von Hardegg, die zweite Frau von Heinrich
II. Diese freundliche und liebenswürdige Dame war beim einfachen Volk sehr beliebt. Sie trug immer ein weißes Kleid und
wahrscheinlich war sie es, die damit begann, am grünen Donnerstag in der schwarzen Küche des Schlosses, süßen Brei für
die Armen zu kochen. Von Zeit zu Zeit sah man sie auch nach ihrem Tod, wie sie ganz in weiß gekleidet zu Mittag aus dem
Fenster des alten Turms, zu dem keine Stufen mehr führten, schaute. Mit weißen Handschuhen sagte sie die Geburt eines
Kleinkinds voraus, schwarze Handschuhe bedeuteten den Tod. Die Weiße Frau von Hradec ist ein guter Geist des Schlosses
und freundlicher Beschützer aller Leidenden.

One of the biggest attractions in Jindřichův Hradec is the

Hrad Landštejn
Každý hrad byl v době své slávy zdrojem mýtů. A těmto mýtům čas skvěle prospívá.
Gotický skvost mezi hrady Landštejn není výjimkou. Při vstupu do hradu v hrubé omítce brány najdete tvář Markéty,
dcery Viléma z Landštejna. V dobách, kdy kolem hradu vedla důležitá obchodní stezka, byla sličná Markéta zaslíbena
panu Jindřichovi II., mocnému pánu z nedalekého Hradce. Příběh jejich lásky by se asi vyvíjel jinak, kdyby Jindřich nechtěl
k obvyklému věnu také mýto ze stezky. Tento požadavek rozhodně nebyl po chuti autoritativnímu otci, který zasnoubení
zrušil a zahájil tak dlouhotrvající svár. Válka růží, jak je tento spor nazýván, vtáhla do bojů celé jižní Čechy. A co bylo
dál? Spory vyřešil až Karel IV. Markéta byla uvězněna, a když se s pomocí rytíře Buzka z Lásenic pokusila o útěk, Vilém
z Landštejna zakročil tak, jak bylo ve středověku běžné. Rytíře uvrhl do hladomorny, kde také zemřel. Nebohou Markétu
její otec nechal zaživa zazdít. Od těch dob se sličná panna za jasných nocí zjevuje jako bílá paní a naříká nad svou ztracenou
láskou. Její otec také neunikl svému osudu. V rozhodujícím boji muže proti muži byl poražen a na následky zranění zemřel.
Kdybyste za bouřlivé noci zůstali na hradě, mohli byste potkat jeho ducha, který nenašel klidu a stále hledá odpuštění.
Landštejn Castle
Each castle has been the source of a myth at some time. And time greatly contributes to such myths.
Landštejn, a Gothic gem among castles, is no exception. Upon entering the castle, in the rough plaster of the gate, you
will find the face of Markéta, daughter of Vilém of Landštejn. At times when an important trade route passed around
the castle, Markéta was promised as a wife to Jindřich II, a powerful monarch from nearby Hradec. However, their love
story would have developed differently if Jindřich had not wanted such a high toll for use of the trade route. This demand
certainly did not please the authoritarian father, who cancelled the engagement and began a long-lasting conflict. The
War of the Roses, as this conflict is called, brought all of South Bohemia into the fighting. And what came next? Charles IV
eventually resolved the dispute. Markéta was imprisoned and when with the aid of Knight Buzek of Lásenice she tried to
escape, Vilém of Landštejn punished the knight in a way that was common in the Middle Ages. He locked the knight in a
dungeon, where he starved to death. Markéta's father had her enclosed alive in walls. Ever since then, she has appeared
on clear nights as the Lady in White and laments her lost love. However, her father did not escape a fate of his own. He
was defeated in a duel and died of his injuries. If you stay at the castle on a stormy night, you may encounter his spirit,
which has never found calm and still seeks forgiveness.
Die Burg Landštejn
Jede Burg war zur Zeit ihres Ruhms eine Quelle von Mythen. Und die Zeit bekommt den Mythen gut.
Das gotische Juwel unter den Burgen, Landštejn, bildet da keine Ausnahme. Beim Betreten der Burg finden Sie in dem
rauen Putz des Tores das Gesicht der Markéta, der Tochter Vilém von Landštejn. In der Zeit, in der entlang der Burg
eine wichtige Handelsstraße führte, war Markéta Heinrich dem II., einem mächtigen Herrn aus dem nahe gelegenen
Hradec, versprochen. Die Geschichte ihrer Liebe hätte sich vielleicht anders entwickelt, wenn Heinrich zu seiner Mitgift
nicht auch eine Maut aus dieser Straße verlangt hätte. Diese Forderung war gewiss nicht nach dem Geschmack des
autoritativen Vaters, der die Verlobung auflöste und somit eine langjährige Fehde einleitete. Der Rosenkrieg, wie dieser
Streit genannt wird, zog ganz Südböhmen in die Schlacht. Und was geschah dann? Der Konflikt wurde erst durch Karl IV.
beigelegt. Markéta wurde eingesperrt und als sie mit Hilfe des Ritters Buzek von Lásenice zu fliehen versuchte, griff Vilém
von Landštejn ein, so wie es im Mittelalter üblich war. Den Ritter warf er in den Kerker, wo dieser auch starb. Die arme
Markéta ließ ihr Vater bei lebendigem Leib einmauern. Seither erscheint die Jungfrau in strahlenden Nächten als Weiße
Frau und trauert über ihre verlorene Liebe. Ihr Vater ist seinem Schicksal auch nicht entkommen. Im entscheidenden
Kampf Mann gegen Mann wurde er besiegt und starb an den Folgen seiner Verletzungen. Wenn Sie in einer stürmischen
Nacht auf der Burg bleiben würden, könnten Sie seinem Geist begegnen, der keinen Frieden gefunden hat und immer
noch nach Vergebung sucht.

VELKÝ RATMÍROV
Velký Ratmírov, vesnice s tradicí vánočního koupání.
Přestože za první písemnou zmínku o Velkém Ratmírovu
je považována zpráva z roku 1420, je velký předpoklad,
že místo bylo osídleno již na počátku třináctého
století v souvislosti s kolonizací krajiny rodem pánů
z Hradce. Stejně jako většina sídel na Jindřichohradecku
měla i tato vesnice od počátku převážně německý
charakter. Během třicetileté války byl Velký Ratmírov
roku 1631 vypleněn císařským vojskem. Roku 1794 se
zde narodil budoucí filozof, kněz, pedagog a spisovatel
Franz Schneider, který se z ratmírovského pasáčka krav
vypracoval až na ředitele pražského gymnázia a vysoce
postaveného člověka tehdejší společnosti. Začátkem
devatenáctého století měla ves přes 500 obyvatel. Zažila
i přibližně 30 požárů, z nichž největší v roce 1908,
kdy vyhořelo 44 usedlostí. Po druhé světové válce byli
občané německé národnosti odsunuti a ves postupně
osídlena novými obyvateli. V katastru obce se nachází
v lesích ukryté samoty Klenovská myslivna, Klenovská
hájovna a Prokopský Dvůr. Tato nevelká vesnička pod
hřebenem Klenovských lesů leží v blízkosti Jindřichova
Hradce, v krajině bohaté na památky, rybníky a lesy. Oblast
je vhodná pro rekreaci a pěší turistiku. Obcí prochází
cyklotrasa 1148 Greenway Praha–Vídeň. K místním
zvyklostem patří stavění máje a masopustní průvod.
Dvacetiletou tradici má také vánoční koupání ve volné
přírodě. Příznivci studené vody se zde schází vždy na
Štědrý den u některého z rybníků, aby ze sebe symbolicky
spláchli prach uplynulého roku. Někdo si opláchne
pouze ruce a obličej, někdo se ponoří celý, někdo si
zaplave. Je na každém, jak dlouho chce ve vodě být.

Although the fi rst written mention of Velký Ratmirov
is said to date back to 1420, it is assumed that
the location was settled already at the beginning
of the thirteenth century in connection with the
colonisation of the countryside by the Lords of
Hradec. Just like most seats in the Jindřichův Hradec
region, this village too mainly had a German
character since its beginnings. During the Thirty
Years War, Velký Ratmírov was overrun by imperial
troops in 1631. In 1794, future philosopher,
educator and writer Franz Schneider was born and
he eventually advanced in his career from a cattle
herdsboy in Ratmírov to the director of a Prague
secondary school where he became a highly positioned
person in society. At the start of the nineteenth
century, the village had more than 500 inhabitants.
It has survived approximately 30 fi res, the
largest of them in 1908, when 44 dwellings burnt.
After the Second World War, ethnic Germans were
expelled and the village was gradually settled by
new inhabitants. The village’s territory is located in
the forest-covered Klenovská Myslivna, Klenovská
Hájovna and Prokopský Dvůr. This small village
below the ridge of the Klenovský forests is located
near Jindřichův Hradec, in a landscape rich in
landmarks, ponds and forests. The area is ideal
for recreation and hiking. The village is passed
through by the 1148 Greenway Prague - Vienna

Obwohl die erste schriftliche Erwähnung von
Velký Ratmírov auf einen Bericht aus dem Jahr
1420 zurückgeht, wird angenommen, dass der Ort
bereits zu Beginn des dreizehnten Jahrhunderts

Während des Dreißigjährigen Krieges wurde Velký
Ratmírov im Jahr 1631 von der kaiserlichen Armee
ausgeplündert. 1794 wurde hier der zukünftige
Philosoph, Priester, Lehrer und Schriftsteller
Franz Schneider geboren, der sich von einem
Rinderhirten von Ratmírov bis zum Direktor eines
Prager Gymnasiums und zu einem hochrangigen
Mann der damaligen Gesellschaft herausgearbeitet
hat. Zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts hatte das
Dorf über 500 Einwohner. Es durchlebte auch
ungefähr 30 Brände, von denen das größte
im Jahr 1908 ausbrach und 44 Bauernhäuser
abbrannten. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurden
die Bürger deutscher Nationalität vertrieben und
das Dorf wurde allmählich von neuen Bewohnern
besiedelt. Im Kataster der Gemeinde befi nden
sich in den Wäldern der verborgenen Einsamkeit
die Jägerhäuser Klenovská Myslivna, Klenovská
Hájovna und Prokopský Dvůr. Dieses kleine
Dorf unter dem Kamm der Wälder von Klenov
liegt in der Nähe von Jindřichův Hradec, in einer
Landschaft reich an Denkmälern, Teichen und
Wäldern. Das Gebiet eignet sich zur Erholung und
zum Wandern. Das Dorf wird von dem Radweg
1148 Greenway Prag - Wien durchquert. Zu den
örtlichen Veranstaltungen gehören das Aufstellen
des Maibaums und ein Karnevalsumzug.
Eine zwanzigjährige Tradition stellt auch das
Weihnachtsbaden in freier Natur dar. Kaltwasser-
Liebhaber treffen sich hier am Weihnachtsabend an
einem der Teiche, um den Staub des vergangenen
Jahres symbolisch abzuwaschen. Jemand wäscht
sich nur die Hände und das Gesicht, jemand taucht
ganz hinein, jemand schwimmt. Es bleibt jedem
überlassen, wie lange er im Wasser verbleibt.

DUNAJOVICE
Uzdravení nemocným očím prý přináší léčivá voda, vyvěrající na Dunajovické
hoře. Vyprávět by o tom mohla kaple sv. Kříže, která zde stojí snad už
od 18. století.
V širokém okolí známé poutní místo s křížovou cestou
je opředeno pověstmi. Podle jedné z nich byla kaple
postavena jako poděkování za uzdravení slepoty. Podle té
druhé jako projev pokání za dvojnásobnou vraždu. Kaplička
s křížovou cestou dodnes přináší útěchu všem, kteří ji
hledají. A Dunajovice se svými 220 obyvateli jsou častým
cílem turistů hlavně díky překrásné krajině, ve které leží.
Vydejte se na vrchol Dunajovické hory. Z tohoto nejvyššího
místa Třeboňské pánve shlédnete Třeboňsko se všemi jeho
krásami. Ať už si omyjete oči léčivou vodou, nebo ne, ten
výhled za trochu námahy určitě stojí.

errichtet. Eine andere besagt wiederum, dass dies als Ausdruck
der Reue für einen Doppelmord geschah. Die Kapelle mit dem
Kreuzweg bringt noch heute allen Trost, die sie aufsuchen. Und
die Gemeinde Dunajovice ist mit ihren 220 Einwohnern ein häufiges
Touristenziel, vor allem wegen der schönen Landschaft,
in der sie liegt. Gehen Sie zum Gipfel des Donauberges. Von
diesem höchsten Punkt des Třeboň-Beckens aus überblicken

Z vrcholu Čertova kamene prý v dobách středověkých často vyšlehly plameny.
Nebyli to však čerti, kteří by takto dokazovali, že nikdy nespí, ale strážní,
upozorňující na nebezpečí.
Na toto pověstmi opředené místo vás zavede
turistická značka z Kostelní Radouně. Historie

13. století. Již v té době tady stával kostel

spewed in the Middle Ages. However, it was not only demons who used flames
to prove that they never sleep but guards as well which signified danger.

end of the 13th century. Already at that time, the
Church of St. Vitus stood there, as the major
dominant landmark of the village for its three

Vom Gipfel des Naturdenkmals Čertův kámen (Teufelsstein) sollen im

auf eine Gefahr hinweisen.
Zu diesem sagenumwobenen Ort gelangen Sie entlang dem markierten Wanderweg von Kostelní

Putování obcí, která vděčí za svůj vznik německým kolonizátorům
ze 13. století, rozhodně nemusí být nuda. Na jižním
okraji obce, v Hračkolně, zjistíte, že kouzlo dřevěných
hraček a starých šicích strojů je stále živé. Vaše kroky
budou hlídat svatí Petr a Pavel, jimž je zasvěcen zdejší
původně gotický kostel stojící na kopci uprostřed obce.
A když se vydáte po naučné stezce Čertův kámen, dozvíte
se mnohé o malebné jihočeské krajině i o čertech, kteří
na Čertově kopci údajně měli svůj hrad. K Lodhéřovu patří
i místní části Studnice a v lesích ukrytý Najdek. Život tady
není snadný, ale díky panenské přírodě s lesy plnými hub,
kvetoucími loukami a zádumčivými rybníky je krásný.

kopec (Teufelsberg) befunden haben soll. Zu Lodhéřov gehören
auch die Ortsteile Studnice und Najdek – letzterer liegt
im Wald versteckt. Das Leben hier ist nicht einfach, aber aufgrund
der jungfräulichen Natur mit Wäldern voller Pilze, blühenden
Wiesen und mythischen Teichen schön.

Takto oslovovali návštěvníky obce ti, kteří v dobách
celkem nedávno minulých sloužívali na čáře u Písečného.
Obce, která leží v těsné blízkosti hranic s Rakouskem,
v pásmu bývalé železné opony. A právě
proto, že krajina byla dlouhá léta nedostupná, zachovala
si svoji čistotu a krásu. Dnes žije v obci, která
vznikla ve 14. století, okolo 600 obyvatel. Prolínání
české, německé i židovské kultury je tady stále patrné.
Zámek odkazuje na německý vliv pánů z Hradce,
židovský hřbitov je zase němým svědkem zdejší
bohaté židovské obce. A vliv rakouských sousedů je
vidět i dnes. Protože kde jinde si zahrajete metanou
tak skvěle jako právě v Písečném?

times at the border crossing by Písečné. A village, which is
located near the border with Austria, in the zone of the former
Iron Curtain. And the reason it has maintained its cleanness
and beauty was that for many years it has been inaccessible.
Today, the village which was established in the 14th century
has a population of around 600. The intertwining of Czech,
German and Jewish culture is still very apparent there. The
château is evidence of the German infl uence of the lords
from Hradec, while the Jewish cemetery is evidence of the
rich local Jewish culture in the village. And the infl uence of
the village’s Austrian neighbours is visible still today. Because
where else can you play curling like in Písečné?

So wurden die Besucher der Gemeinde von denjenigen angesprochen,
die noch vor nicht allzu langer Zeit an der Grenze bei Písečné gedient
haben. Einer Gemeinde, die in direkter Nähe zur österreichischen Grenze,
in der Zone des ehemaligen eisernen Vorhangs liegt. Und gerade
deshalb, dass die Landschaft jahrelang nicht zugänglich war, hat sie ihre
Reinheit und Schönheit beibehalten. Heute leben in dem Dorf, das im
14. Jahrhundert entstand, rund 600 Einwohner. Das Aufeinandertreffen
der tschechischen, deutschen und jüdischen Kultur ist hier noch immer
sichtbar. Das Schloss verweist auf den deutschen Einfluss der Herren
aus Hradec und der jüdische Friedhof ist wiederum ein stummer Zeuge
der hiesigen reichen jüdischen Gemeinde. Und der Einfluss der österreichischen
Nachbarn ist noch heute zu sehen. Denn wo sonst haben

Who helps the tourism to grow?
The CBS Publishing Company is developing many activities to support
tourism. It publishes books and maps and takes breath-taking aerial
photography.
The aerial photography that it takes are then used to create cycling and hiking
maps which can be found in multiple households, companies or villages. The
artistic talent of painters and their love for the Czech Republic is evidenced by
the painted maps, which are hand painted with precision and emphasis on
detail. Municipalities use these painted maps mainly to help with the orientation
of their visitors. This is also the aim of the CBS Publishing Company, which is
to show the beauty of the Czech Republic. All of the maps are created from the
heart and all of the books are published to reflect the love of beauty and art.
In this romantic connection is also a piece of practical and very useful work.

Ochrana životního prostředí nade vše
Vzpomínáte, jak vám bylo krásně teplo, když jste se na prázdninách u babičky
zahrabali do sena na půdě? Obyvatelé Jindřichova Hradce si takové teplo
dopřávají denně a mohli by o tom vyprávět.
Životní prostředí je velmi diskutovaným tématem.
Jedním ze způsobů, jak příznivě ovlivnit stav klimatu,
je co nejčistší výroba energie. V jindřichohradeckém
Energetickém centru se zaměřili na zpracování
biomasy v podobě slisovaných balíků slámy a sena
a technologie, kterou v roce 2008 uvedli do provozu,
byla svého času ve střední Evropě naprosto unikátní.
Mnozí teď zapřemýšlejí, co to vlastně biomasa
je? Biomasa je souhrn látek tvořících těla všech organismů.
Nejčastěji je biomasou označována ta rostlinného
původu, která je využitelná pro energetické
účely, jejíž energie má svůj prapůvod ve slunečním
záření a fotosyntéze. Tato energie se pak uvolní spalováním.
Slisované balíky slámy a sena jsou v jindřichohradecké
elektrárně dopravovány do speciálního
biomasového kotle, který nahradil dva parní kotle
spalující mazut a zemní plyn. Kondenzační odběrová
turbína pak zajišťuje výrobu elektřiny, která pokryje
roční spotřebu 15 000 domácností, a dodávku
tepla do dvou největších jindřichohradeckých sídlišť.
K takovému provozu je samozřejmě potřebný pravidelný
přísun paliva, kterého se v Energetickém
centru ročně spálí téměř 50 000 tun, což představuje
130 000 balíků slámy a sena. Společnost dlouhodobě
spolupracuje s různými dodavateli z okolí,
kteří musí hlídat pouze jedno, a to vlhkost surovin.

Environmental protection above all else
Do you remember how nice and warm you were when you dug played in the
hay on the ground during the holidays at your grandmother‘s? The inhabitants
of Jindřichův Hradec enjoy for themselves such warmth on a daily basis and
could tell you about it.
The environment is a highly discussed topic. One
of the ways to infl uence the climate is to carry out
the cleanest possible energy production. At the Energy
Centre in Jindřichův Hradec, they focused on
processing bio mass in the form of pressed bales of
straw and hay, and the technology, which in 2008
was put into operation, was absolutely unique in
its time in Central Europe. Will many people now
think about what exactly bio mass is? Bio mass is
a collective set of substances forming the bodies of
all organisms. Bio mass is most often described as
being of plant origin and usable for energy purposes
while its energy has its origin in the sun’s rays
and photosynthesis. This energy is then released
through combustion process. The formed bales of
straw and hay are transported at the Jindřichův Hradec
power plant to a special bio mass boiler, which
has replaced two steam boilers burning black oil
and natural gas. The condensing extraction turbine
then ensures production of electricity, which covers
the yearly consumption of 15,000 households and
supplies heat to the two largest housing complexes
in Jindřichův Hradec. For such operation, regular
feed of fuel is of course necessary and the Energy
Centre annually burns nearly 50,000 tonnes of it,
which represents 130,000 bales of straw and hay.
The company has long cooperated with various
suppliers from the surroundings, who must watch
over only one thing, the moisture of raw materials.
After drying, it is necessary to press straw and hay
into bales of particular dimensions and store them
in a dry environment or wrap them in foil. This is
done by equipment, which can wrap an entire stack
of straw and hay. So, the next time someone in the
field expresses surprise at a stack of straw wrapped
in plastic, you will know why.

Erinnern Sie sich noch daran, wie wunderschön warm Ihnen war, wenn Sie sich während
der Ferien bei der Oma in das Stroh auf dem Dachboden vergraben haben? Die Einwohner
von Jindřichův Hradec genießen eine solche Wärme täglich und könnten davon erzählen.
Die Umwelt ist ein sehr diskutiertes Thema. Eine der
Möglichkeiten, das Klima positiv zu beeinfl ussen, ist
die möglichst saubere Energieerzeugung. Im Energiezentrum
Jindřichův Hradec konzentriert man sich auf
die Verarbeitung von Biomasse in Form von gepressten
Stroh- und Heuballen und die Technologie, die 2008 in
Betrieb genommen wurde, war zu ihrer Zeit in Mitteleuropa
ganz einzigartig. Viele Menschen fragen sich, was
Biomasse eigentlich ist? Biomasse ist die Summe der
Stoffe, aus denen die Körper aller Organismen bestehen.
Am häufi gsten wird diejenige Masse pfl anzlichen
Ursprungs, die für Energiezwecke genutzt werden kann
und deren Energie ihren Ursprung in Sonnenstrahlung
und Photosynthese hat, als Biomasse bezeichnet. Diese
Energie wird dann durch Verbrennung freigesetzt. Strohund
Heuballen werden im Kraftwerk von Jindřichův Hradec
an einen speziellen Biomassekessel geliefert, der
zwei Dampfkessel ersetzt hat, die Öl und Erdgas verbrennen.
Die Kondensations-Entnahmeturbine sichert
dann die Stromproduktion, um den jährlichen Verbrauch
von 15.000 Haushalten und die Wärmeversorgung der
zwei größten Wohnsiedlungen von Jindřichův Hradec zu
decken. Für so einen Betrieb ist natürlich eine regelmäßige
Versorgung mit Brennstoffen erforderlich. Im Energiezentrum
werden jährlich etwa 50.000 Tonnen verbrannt,
was 130.000 Stroh- und Heuballen entspricht.
Das Unternehmen arbeitet langfristig mit verschiedenen
Lieferanten aus der Umgebung zusammen, deren Aufgabe
nur darin besteht, den Feuchtigkeitsgehalt der
Rohstoffe zu überwachen. Nach dem Trocknen müssen
das Stroh und das Heu in Ballen mit bestimmten Maßen
gepresst und in trockener Umgebung oder in Folie
verpackt aufbewahrt werden. Dazu dient ein Gerät, das
einen ganzen Stapel Stroh und Heu einwickeln kann.

Firma “AGRO-LA“, spol. s r.o. byla založena v roce 1992 jako přímý pokračovatel činnosti Zemědělské oblastní
laboratoře, která zde působila od roku 1976. Hlavním zaměřením zůstala orientace na laboratorní činnost

AGRO-LA spol. s.r.o., a limited liability company, was founded in 1992 as the direct successor
of the former Agricultural Area Laboratory, which had been operating since 1976.
Its main focus remains laboratory activities for farming, the food industry and the environment.
A new programme for preparation and distribution of nutrient-rich soil for microbiology,
microbiological analyses and preparation of special dairy cultures was newly introduced.
In relation to that activity, in 1993 yoghurt began being produced and yoghurt
production became one of the company’s most important activities, thanks to the unique
quality of products. Since 2004, the products have held the national mark of food quality
KLASA. The main advantages of these dairy products are: Quality milk from Southern Bohemian
farms. The company’s own dairy cultures, which it cultivates on its own. A quality

Die Firma “AGRO-LA“, spol. s r. o. wurde 1992 als direkte Nachfolgerin des Landwirtschaftlichen regionalen

Je doloženo, že už staří Egypťané a Řekové vyráběli tkané textilie. Utkat
gobelín patřilo vždy k ceněnému uměleckému řemeslu.
Vyrábí se stále stejně a býval po staletí ozdobou mnoha šlechtických
sídel i veřejných budov. Dům gobelínů, kulturních tradic a řemesel

Tourismus, Landwirtschaft und Krankenpflege. Studenten nehmen
erfolgreich an Wettbewerben teil und präsentieren ihre Produkte auf
Modeschauen oder regionalen und ausländischen Ausstellungen.
Die Zusammenarbeit mit italienischen, portugiesischen, slowakischen
und japanischen Schulen und regionalen Unternehmen ist
selbstverständlich. Es ist eine Schule, in der jeder seinen Traum verwirklichen
kann. Ein Traum davon „wenn ich groß bin“.

Andělé dnešních dnů
Chodí v bílém, jsou milé, ochotné a už jejich vlídný úsměv přináší úlevu
v nemoci či bolestech.
Takové anděly vychovává také Střední zdravotnická škola v Jindřichově Hradci. Moderní škola v centru

Modern-day angels

relief to those suffering illness or pain.
Such angels are also educated at the Secondary Medical School in Jindřichův Hradec. The modern school
in the town centre provides a four-year graduate study programme in medical as well as social subjects
and graduates can then find work in hospitals or clinics in addition to social institutions or as terrain workers.
But since they are young, they also appreciate
the skiing courses, sport and language competitions,
excursions, visits to the theatre and trips abroad. You
can meet them in the Jindřichův Hradec Hospital or at
the Seniors’ Home while swimming with the disabled
and during charity fund-raising events, as well as during
first aid instruction and medical supervision at various
events. Not everyone can be an angel. It is a mission
for which some are predestined and carefully trained.

Sie tragen weiße Kleidung, sind nett, hilfsbereit und ihr freundliches Lächeln sorgt für
einen angenehmeren Krankenhausaufenthalt bzw. trägt zur Schmerzlinderung bei.
Solche Engel werden auch an der Berufsschule für Krankenpfl ege in Jindřichův Hradec ausgebildet. An
der im Stadtzentrum gelegenen modernen Schule kann man in medizinischen und sozialen Fächern
eine vierjährige Ausbildung mit Abitur absolvieren. Danach können die Absolventen sowohl in Krankenhäusern
oder Ambulanzen als auch in Sozialeinrichtungen oder als Straßensozialarbeiter eingesetzt
werden. Und da das Leben der Studenten nicht nur aus Lernen und Studium besteht, absolvieren sie
Skikurse, nehmen an Sport- oder Sprachwettbewerben teil, unternehmen Exkursionen, Fahrten ins
Ausland oder besuchen Theatervorstellungen. Sie sind im Krankenhaus von Jindřichův Hradec oder im
Seniorenheim anzutreffen sowie beim Schwimmen mit Personen mit Handicap oder bei Sammlungen
zu Wohltätigkeitszwecken, bei Erste-Hilfe-Unterweisungen sowie als Sanitäter bei verschiedenen Veranstaltungen.
Nicht jeder kann ein Engel sein. Zu dieser Tätigkeit ist man berufen und die Auserwählten
erhalten eine eingehende Ausbildung.

Fakulta managementu v Jindřichově Hradci je nejmladší a zároveň jedinou mimopražskou fakultou
Vysoké školy ekonomické v Praze. V rámci oboru ekonomika a management nabízí kvalitní

Small faculty in a small town. The Faculty of Management proves that it is
possible to get high-quality education outside the big cities.
The Faculty of Management in Jindrichuv Hradec is the youngest faculty, while having the
distinction of being the only faculty of the University of economics in Prague located outside of
the capital. In the field of Economics and Management the faculty offers quality education in
all three levels of university studies. The faculty combines high-level studies with a highly personal
approach. The faculty campus is one of the most modern and state-of-the-art university
workplaces. The faculty supports students in self-realization, which has resulted in a number of
student organizations. These organize a lot of events not only for the members of the academic
community but also for the inhabitants of the city. In conjunction with the Faculty of Management,
Jindrichuv Hradec became a university town.

Eine kleine Fakultät in einer kleinen Stadt. Die Fakultät für Management beweist,
dass auch außerhalb von Großstädten eine hochwertige Bildung möglich ist.
Die Fakultät für Management in Jindřichův Hradec ist die jüngste und auch einzige Fakultät der
Wirtschaftsuniversität außerhalb von Prag. Im Bereich Wirtschaft und Management bietet sie eine
qualitativ hochwertige Ausbildung auf allen drei Ebenen des Hochschulstudiums. Dank der kleinen
Anzahl von Studenten verbindet die Fakultät ein Studium auf hohem Niveau mit einem sehr persönlichen
Ansatz. Das Fakultätsgebäude ist eine der modernsten
Arbeitsstellen der Universität. Neben Lehrräumen
bietet es Entspannungszonen, die den Schülern zur Entspannung
dienen. Die Fakultät unterstützt Studenten bei
ihrer Selbstverwirklichung, was zu einer Reihe von studentischen
Organisationen geführt hat. Sie organisieren nicht

Cesta, která vede k úspěchům, nikdy není jednoduchá.
Mnohdy je plná kamení a překážek, někdy přijde
bouřka či vánice. Důležité ale je vytrvat a dojít k cíli.
Vědí to i žáci 5. Základní školy v Jindřichově Hradci.
Celá škola se pyšní sportovními úspěchy svých
žáků, především v plaveckých soutěžích, kde obsazují
první příčky. Nezadají si ani ve volejbale,
stolním tenise nebo přespolním běhu. Při všem tom
sportování nezapomínají ani na učení. Žáci s úspěchem
zvládají recitační a jazykové soutěže, jsou
mezi nimi nadaní zpěváci a vášniví čtenáři, učí se
základy podnikání. K takovým úspěchům rozhodně
nevede cesta jednoduchá. Ale na jejím konci jako
zářící slunce na každého čeká ten jeho cíl.
A sunny path to education and sport
A path that leads to success is never easy.
It is often full of stones and other obstacles or it may be obscured by a storm or blizzard. However, it is
important to endure and reach the goal. This is common knowledge even among pupils at the 5th Primary
School in Jindřichův Hradec. The entire school can boast about the sport successes of its pupils,
mainly in swimming competitions where they hold the fi rst positions. They are determined to succeed in
volleyball, ping pong and running as well. When participating in sport, they do not forget their lessons
either. The pupils successfully compete in recitation and language competitions which includes talented
singers and passionate readers while they learn the basics of business. The path to such success is not
easy. But at the end of it, everyone’s goal is waiting like a ray of sunshine.
Mühelos lernen und sportliche erfolge erzielen
Ein Weg, der zum Erfolg führt, ist niemals leicht.
Oftmals ist er sehr steinig und voller Hindernisse, manchmal ist er auch dornig und sehr strapaziös.
Wichtig ist jedoch, den Weg nicht zu verlassen und das Ziel zu erreichen. Dies wissen auch die Schüler
der 5. Grundschule in Jindřichův Hradec. Die ganze Schule ist auf die sportlichen Erfolge ihrer Schüler
stolz – vor allem in den Schwimmwettkämpfen, wo
sie erste Plätze belegt haben. Aber auch im Volleyball,
Tischtennis und Geländelauf haben sie positive
Ergebnisse zu verzeichnen. Bei allen sportlichen
Aktivitäten kommt aber auch das Lernen nicht zu
kurz. Erfolgreich nehmen die Schüler an Rezitations-
und Sprachwettbewerben teil, unter ihnen gibt
es begabte Sänger sowie eifrige Leser und sie lernen
die Grundlagen der Unternehmensführung. Der
Weg zu solchen Erfolgen ist auf alle Fälle kein einfacher.
Aber am Ende dieses Weges erreichen sie
ihr Ziel und werden somit belohnt.

Malovaná mapa vzdělává děti na školách
Mapa jako oblíbená pomůcka učitelů vlastivědy a geografie nejen v České
republice, ale i na Slovensku.
Ručně malovaná mapa je umělecké dílo, do posledního detailu vypracované
malířem a kartografem. V každé mapě nechává malíř doslova kus
své duše jako každý umělec ve svém díle. Předností malované mapy je
lehká čitelnost i pro ty, kteří se v klasických mapách až tak dobře neorientují.
Její malebné ztvárnění a zvýraznění památek a zajímavostí z ní dělá
ideální pomůcku pro školy a informační centra. Není proto tajemstvím, že

he makes, just like every other artist to his or her works of art. The great advantage
of painted maps is that they are easy to read also for those, who cannot read
classis maps. Monuments and places of interest are painted in a picturesque
way and so it is an ideal teaching tool for schools and information centers. No

The CBS publishing company has been preparing an edition of books with
aerial photographs of regions of the Czech Republic.
The first book issued in this edition was a book with views
of the Brno region From Heaven which shows the city
of Brno and the entire region in all of its beauty. Get to
know sites where history has been written and where
knights have fought. In the book “Nový Jičín Region
From Heaven” you can discover the natural beauty and
dominant landmarks from Nizký Jeseník all the way to the
Beskydy Mountains in Moravia-Silesia and be charmed
by exploring less frequently seen hidden sites. Mining history,
unique architecture and breathtaking nature, once
negatively affected by industry, will all be presented to you
in the book “Ostrava Region From Heaven”. The town

Heaven” which will familiarise you with the characteristic architecture of the city of Zlín, hills covered with forests and
dotted with observation points and will show you fairy-tale-like towns as well as villages surrounded by greenery

je pilotem a dobrodruhem.

již druhé desetiletí
přináší společnostem
a samosprávám v České
republice a na Slovensku originálnía nezaměnitelné
propagační produkty. Je největším
vydavatelem ručně malovaných map
v Evropě a druhým největším na světě. Edice
leteckých knih, jako je tato, je výsledkem
jeho velké vášně k létání. Mezi jeho další záliby
patří osobní rozvoj, zimní plavání, cestování
na motorce, psaní cestopisů, hra na
kytaru a fujaru, příroda a všechny druhy zimních
a letních sportů. Je otcem tří krásných
dcer. Jeho snem je svojí prací proslavit Českou
republiku a Slovensko.
MILAN PAPRČKA (*1979) is a pilot and an

the biggest European producer and the
second biggest world producer of hand-painted
maps. The edition of aerial
books like this one is the result of his
great passion for flying. His other hobbies
include personal development, winter
swimming, motorcycle riding, writing
book of travels, playing guitar and fujara
(Slovak overtone flute), nature and all
kinds of winter and summer sports. He
is a father of three lovely daughters. He
dreams about making Czech republic and
Slovakia popular through his work.

Zu seinen weiteren Hobbys zählen die persönliche
Entfaltung, Winterschwimmen,
Reisen mit dem Motorrad, Reiseberichte,
Gitarre und Fujara spielen, die Natur sowie
alle Winter- und Sommersportarten. Er ist
Vater von drei bezaubernden Töchtern. Sein
Traum ist es, der Tschechischen und Slowakischen
Republik durch seine Arbeit zu
Ruhm zu verhelfen.
