Daddy Daughter Dance brings the smiles in Wilmette<br />

After a long work week,<br />
many dads just want to<br />
come home and relax on<br />
a Friday night, but not on<br />
Feb. 10, when fathers all<br />
over town put down their<br />
briefcase and picked up<br />
their favorite girl, heading<br />
to the Wilmette Park<br />
District Daddy Daughter<br />
Dance.<br />
Upon entering the Michigan<br />
Shores Club, fatherdaughter<br />
duos were led<br />
upstairs where toe-tapping<br />
music, tasty treats and<br />
an ice cream bar awaited<br />
them.<br />
Young ladies were first<br />
to attack the dance floors,<br />
but soon dads followed<br />
suit, unable to resist the<br />
beat of Taylor Swift, Miley<br />
Cyrus, Pink and all the<br />
other popular musicians<br />
who make their little girls<br />
throw their hands in the<br />
air, sing, twirl and dance<br />
the night away.<br />
Lindsay Thomas, park<br />
district recreation manager,<br />
said her favorite<br />
part of the night is seeing<br />
the joy.<br />
“I can’t get over all the<br />
smiles,” she said. “It’s every<br />
little girl’s dream to<br />
get dressed up and come<br />
to one of these dances.<br />
